1. What is Project India?

Project India is a long term plan for the Paradoxoft software development and this includes the base system and application projects.

Since our first priority of development is to design an open consistent system model, the Project India also focuses on the consistency.

 

In this project, in the first stage, we will develop a base system (mainly the operating system kernel) and important basic system softwares. As soon as the base system projects are finished, we will proceed toward the application development projects and produce many applications for the designed base system.

 

2. How should we do this?

Designing an open consistent base system and developing many useful softwares for that. It sounds quite simple, but we need to do a lot of work for this. Especially, we also need to emphasise on the completeness of the softwares. If the softwares produced from this project are not actually complete and useable, people will never want to use them and this will cause this project to fail. In order to prevent that situation, we need to work on every project step by step.

For time efficiency, we should have more than one project for the application softwares. However, first of all, we need to complete the base system project since we cannot proceed without that.

As soon as the base system project is finished, we proceed with the application software projects and there may be many developers working on several different projects.

After most planned projects are finished, we collect the products and make a distribution for the softwares.

3. Base System Project

The base system project is a sub-project of the Project India and is called Project IX/Operating System IX. In this project, we develop an operating system kernel called 'IX' with a new design.

4. System Softwares

This project is not specifically planned yet. Please send a message to the administrator if you have any ideas. As long as the administrator approves your idea, if you want, you may take over the project.
